I was drawn to portraiture because the process is so interesting, I work from photographs, usually but not always taken by me. If it is inconvenient for a client or not practical for me to travel to photograph them, I request the client supply the photograph, and then to get a better sense of who I will be painting, I conduct a phone interview to reinforce my impressions gathered while examining the client supplied photograph
